Hey there,
What a mess, nothing happened to me with my 10-15 minutes of usage (knock on wood) - but I still want it off my computer. Did I delete it all:

1) "Safari 1.0 Beta" from "Applications"
2) "Safari 1.0 Beta" alias from "Dock"
3) "com.apple.Safari.plist" from "Preferences"
4) "Safari" folder from "Preferences"

Glad it beat iTunes for downloads, but not at the expense of my data - damn.

Well "jbstrick",
Apparently "KaptainKaya" knows how to read better than you, and was able to answer my question. I didn't rant... I asked if I'd gotten everything to do with Safari off of my system.

Thanks, Kaptain.

I think he was referring to the 'deleting of the home directory' that some people have witnessed.

C'mon now,
Look at this:

http://discussions.info.apple.com/We...jM.0@.3bbdb9d6

Possibly deleted "tmp" folders, possibly deleted "User" folders, possibly deleted "Preference" folders, full "OSX" re-installs... no thanks. I wanted to delete all files having to do with Safari 1.0 Beta, so that when a new version comes out there'll be no chance of the old one's problems. That's all.

Well, that's scary enough for me to remove all my pictures and mp3 folders off my desktop to another partition and put an alias over to my desktop to substitute for where they used to be... anyhoo.
problem fixed for me... i never think im gonna be that 1 in a million anyway.

Did you read all the posts in that thread? Quite a few more people didn't have the issue, only some did. Obviously no one here at macnn has had the issue yet so it's not wide spread like the itunes installer. Backup your directory, option click download and if nothing happens your fine like my 3 macs are. Also, the missing tmp issue can be solved by relinking the tmp directory or something like that mentioned in anotehr thread.

I don't understand the need to delete it? Or would just leaving it there as a placemarker for an update be too tempting.

"I am Apple software you must use me"

"No,no, you might do something bad"

"Trust me I won't, I'm Apple software remember"

"But, my friends say you are bad"

"How can I be bad when I look so nice"

"Alright then...... arrgh we have all my files gone!"

The new version probably doesn't have these issues. You can try again.

Indeed, in the thread BoulderDash linked to Apple specifically states those problems are fixed in the new version.
