Ok since yesturday I've been getting an "unexpected error" when trying to use software update from the control panel. I wanted to get QT 6.1, but no luck. I've also noticed that all of a sudden I can't mount Apple disk images, and when I tried to install Mouseworks, it said I didn't have admin privledges (which of course I do.) Everything still works fine on my MDD, just my TiBook is having trouble. Any ideas of what might have went bad for me?

Well thank God for the Archive and install feature. After a couple hours I'm back to where I was before the deal went bad, + QT 6.1.

A far more elegant, and easier solution to this problem is mentioned on this Apple thread. Safari apparently deletes /private/tmp in some cases. Also mentioned on /. here.
