I just purchased a Linksys 4 port router for my DSL (not wireless) and there is no support for Mac on the Linksys web site for OSX. The other computer is my roommates PC running millenium. I don't know if there needs to be a host? He has software for his PC so I am not worried about that.
Anyone set one up before and can give me either a link or some support. I found a link from Macworld but it was only for OS9
Thanks in advance for your help.

What exactly is the problem you are having.
LinkSys does not support Mac's even though the router works ok with them for the most part.

I am not having a problem (yet) I just have no instructions whatsoever. Is it a plug and play or do I have to set up IP addresses?
Thank you for replying.

Cycle (turn off/on) your cable modem. Plug your cable modem/DSL into the router. Set up the Network pref pane for Ethernet of your mac to DHCP. Plug the ethernet cable from your Mac into the router. The router will use DHCP to assign an ip to your Mac.
Log in to the router using your web browser. (Usually at http://192.168.1.1) and configure. The default username is "linksys" and the password is "admin". The instructions in the router handbook will tell you the rest.
It isn't as hard as people make it sound.

There may be some updates for your router available, check on Versiontracker. You'll need the model number of the router.
This is not to say that you will necessarily have any problems out of the box. I've got the WiFi model, and it's just been great!

And in order to install those router Linksys updates, you'll need another program (can't place the name; however, it's all over the download Versiontracker page of the update) in order to "upload" the information to your router.
It's painless, just pay close attention to the VT download page and read all the instructions....

It's called MacTFTP.
