If you're posting a poll, why not just use MacNN's polling system?

that banner reminds of one of the early epidodes of pokemon in japan. that anime series was always broadcast around 6 or 6:30 in the evening.
one day, there was severe flashing like that, and 47 children were hospitalized. all had various levels of siezures. hundreds more became merely sick for a few hours.
cause: at a certain, well known, but better left unstated, number of flashes per second, it does cause siezures, even in people who otherwise have never experienced them previously.
watching it in a dark room, as some kids were doing, made it all the worse (intense).
the pokemon empire was about to come crashing down. hundreds of million of dollars in marketing investment, endorsements, future license royalties, were all at risk because of the incident. the series was pulled off the air for a while. the network and creators were made to apologize. but eventually the series was reinstated, after japanese parlimentary debate and questioning on the episode.
by the way, one more interesting fact: a few years back the french government decided to act on a campaign that uprooted trees along country roads that could produce a similiar effect in certain directions and sun intensities, if you were driving along them.

thnx

Tabs -or something like them- for people who want them, and the ability to hide them completely for people who don't.

Come on; we're talking one stinking GUI option here. And an option it is, not something which is forced on anyone. Why is this even an issuie?
You are in Soviet Russia. It is dark. Grue is likely to be eaten by YOU!

That banner reminds me of a Simpsons episode, when they travel to Japan and compete on those game shows. At the hotel everytime they watch TV their eyes grow 4 times the size and they all start rolling on the ground drooling. Well that banner almost had the same effect on me

Some of us would prefer that people who liked tabs didn't use the same browser as us.
