finding an x11 windows position

Is there a bit of software I can run that will tell me the position and dimension of a window. You know those things that you put in the geometry command like

/sw/bin/xfig -geometry 800x600+300+50

I usually just guess and keep guessing until it looks OK. I suppose I could work it out but the simplest thing would be a utility that let me draw a window and then told me the numbers.
