Hello

I'm just wondering if anybody knows the app that Phil used to do the molecular modelling during his Power of X presentation. I don't think he every mentioned the name.

Thanks for any help

i would like to know this info myself.
If anyone knows phil schiller's email address, that would be sufficient (so i can ask him through email).
i don't think it's either matlab or mathematica.
the interface is too simple, plus the icon on the dock did not look familiar.

Yah I don't think it could be any of those either (never used them though, but it just seems very basic). The only thing I could find was iMol that was similar but not the same.

The interface was similar to a program we use in school called Molecules 3D but I believe that is still Mac OS 9 only.

Anyone?

The program Phil Schiller demonstrated is called Spartan. It is from a company called WaveFunction. You can find them at www.wavefun.com

Spartan's fine, but it's nothing compared to Gaussian - I connect to Gaussian on the university supercomputers, and it works great from X11.

What was that guitar one? Am I correct in thinking that it allows one to forego the need of an amp and instead routes it to your computer speakers?

Anyone have a name or a web site for it?

Yep I think you are correct in saying that (I'm currently investigating this myself since my dad is the guitar freak and my girlfriend the chem freak.)

The product is called AmpliTube Live and is made by IK Multimedia.

The web site for the product is:

http://www.amplitube.com/Main.html?ATLive

Now I only need to find an audio-in source for my Digital Audio G4..... That's for another day though.
