Hi! I like Safari too much (I hope it will be my second browser, after Mozilla, when the next —after v51— revision be avalaible).

However, I'm writing it with Chimera, because it's the only browser I can run now (with OmniWeb, but I'm tabbed browsing addicted).

I don't have problems with printing, but with applications.

I made the Terminal instructions (the /tmp alias), deleted all Safari files, reinstalled Jaguar (maintaining users and preferences), Jaguar Cache Cleaner, resetted PRAM, corrected permissions with Disk Utility, installed v51, fsck -y when booting with Command S...

Basically, I can't open Mozilla 1.2.1 (my primary browser), I can't open Internet Explorer (my third browser for now), I can't open Excel, and I migrated to Mail ;-) but if I want to open Entourage, it opens but quits when I'm receiving new messages. (The error message: the application unexpectedly quits).

I can open applications with root or other users, then I'm almost sure that the problem isn't in the System folder, but in my user (admin) folder.

Please, somebody doesn't help me, I think that my unique solution would be: 1) reinstall Jaguar from scratch 2) reinstall all applications 3) put in order my preferences... It must take more than three or four hours...

Please!!!

Thanks in advance!!!
Best regards from Colombia!

I'll bet a whole bunch this is caused by a corrupted preferences file. In my experience, that's almost always the culprit in this sort of problem, and it's practically never in /System. Try backing up your ~/Preferences folder and deleting the original. If your user works correctly after that, you can start gradually putting back in your old preferences. When you find the one that starts the problem again, you'll just have to delete that one and you can probably stick the others back in.

Wow, it's very strange, if I didn't had installed Safari, I would fix it easily, but after all the problems with Safari, and my problem ocurred just after the install, I didn't think the obvious...

Well, "physics dead too", as we say here...

Thanks again, Chuck!

My dudes: did Safari cause the corruption? It was only a coincidence?

However, I think that I will reinstall Safari after v52 or next...
