If I install the Apple X11

a) does it simply replace XDarwin, and/or does it also replace the xfree86 install I did via fink (I believe it is the latter, based upon what I've seen here)...

So... if I remove the xfree86 I've previously installed, and then install the Apple X11... will I have trouble with any of the fink-compiled applications (ie. does the Apple X11 get installed in a place that those apps will be able to find the libraries, etc)?

Thanks,
Mike

I believe FINK has instructions at their website (http://fink.sourceforge.net) on how to uninstall existing xfree86 installations, which you definitely want to do before installing Apple's X11.

Answering my own question, installing the Apple X11, and then re-installing xfree86 did not seem to "break" any of my other fink-installed applications that might rely on the location of any X libraries.
