I remember reading that this was fixed with some update of OS X, but as I use 10.2.3 I still can't use this function. I am speaking of the button in open dialogue boxes that let's you type in a file name and hit "Go" to find it. Does anyone know if this feature will be developed considering the idea has been there since 10.1?

You have to type a file's path like this:

Documents/Portfolio/Layouts

You can type the name of the folder or file within the currently selected directory too like this:

(with Documents folder already selected)

Portfolio*

*it's not case senstive actually

It's more for the CLI folk who prefer to type their way through the filesystem.
