Ok I wanna reinstall redfaction to pl;ay on my mac (X only) but the damn installer is in os 9 only (Vise onstaller) I got the new vise installer maker, is there a way to export out the OS 9 intaller so I can install it in x? I have alot of 9 game sliek this, and I dontl think I can even install os ( becuase my video card drivers wonlt be on the os 9 CD. and not sure if my new G4 Chips will work with it also. ThanX.

I don't understand why you don't think you can install them now.

Even if the app inside the installer is Mac OS 9.x-only, the installer will still run under Classic and install the app.

The Mac OS 9 version of Installer Vise isn't going to install a Mac OS X-native application, for that the developer needs to use the Mac OS X-aware installer.

From a user's perspective, you can't extract the files from the installer. Not even the developer can arbitrarily extract files from the installer, only by running the installer itself.

He doesn't have Classic installed.

I don't think that Installer VISE can re-import installers once they've been built. MindVision made that decision way back in The Day, as a kind of antipiracy tool back when people would put serial-number screens in the installers, rather than the programs themselves.

So I'm afraid you may be out of luck on this. Though if you can find a bootable OS9 CD (you probably have one lying around; any CD which gets you to the Finder should suffice), you may be able to boot from that and then use the installer, if it's on your hard drive. If the installer is on a CD, things get trickier unless you're lucky enough to have two CD-capable drives.

I have my system CD, OS 9, but all i get is a blue screen, i donlt think it works with my new video card, no drivers or it doesnlt have specific drivers for my CPU upgrade, X doesnlt require em, but not sure baout 9.

sorry, just tried it agian, I get the grey befor the smily mac shows up on my main display, and blue on my 2nd display. and i tired unhooking my 2nd display also just fior shits n giggles and no go, it just hangs there at the grey screen.
