Is there a way to select the default account to send with ?

Thanks

Try moving the desired account to the top of the accounts list in the prefs.

When you compose a reply in Mail, the default from account will be the one the person sent you mail to. So, if you originally sent David a message using your xxx@mac.com account, David replies to that account, and you compose a reply to him, your xxx@mac.com will come up as the default. Moving to the top of the list only works as the default account for new messages. Make sure you don't have an existing message highlighted when you compose a new message, or the reply-to email will come up as a default.

Hope this is clear enough ...

I really think Apple could have made it simpler like in Entourage with a checkbox to select default account !
