I'm not sure but i think that since i installed the Dock from an older build of Jaguar in order to enable Minimize in Place, my Finder icon in the Dock it's purple. I know it's not a color calibration issue since all the other icons looks fine in the Dock.

I really hate to have that purple tinted Finder icon, so i tried to replace it inside the Dock.app, but when i open the Finder.png icon inside the bundle, it shows with the correct color balance in Preview.

Any ideas about why is the icon showing purple?
Thanks in advance.

ARENA: Are you using any of the GUI tweaks like TinkerTool or ClearDock? I had the same thing happened when I tried to make the background of the dock transparent so that it'll look like the icons are "floating" on the screen.

I don't know how, but the Clear Dock app (from Unsanity) finally worked and now the dock is transparent. Not sure if you want the same effect.

Well in fact i'm using TransparentDock. But i don't think that is causing the purple icon, since it only modifies with a "dock.plist" file.

Anyway, how did you corrected the purple icon issue?

Your System Preferences icon is also nonstandard; the Apple logo in it is much lighter than the default one (and the shading is entirely different, so color calibration can't explain it). If you weren't aware of this, you might want to look into it. Otherwise, erm, I would suggest reinstalling the Mac OS icon from the Mac OS X CD using Pacifist.

That's the strange part. I'm not sure what I did, but the purple/blue border to the dock background as well as the background disappeared after I bootup the next time. Sorry, I wish I remember more. Are you setting the transparent dock to be completely transparent? I know I had trouble getting ClearDock to work. And then it just worked one day. Strange. Maybe others can help out with this dilemma.

It's a bug in that older version of Dock.app.

I tried that, but the icon replaced still gets a purple tint. Don't know what to do now, since i already unistalled the MIP Dock.

You might try using a program called Aqua Fix. You can find it on Versiontracker. It might work for ya.
