Hi all,

whenever I try to run gimp in an X11 terminal window, I get:

dyld: /usr/local/bin/gimp-1.2 can't open library: /usr/local/lib/libgtk-1.2.0.dylib (No such file or directory, errno = 2)
Trace/BPT trap

what does this mean and how can I fix it?
I installed Gimp using Fink but am new to all this and still have yet to run anything but xeyes and xclock!

I can't translate the error messages you got, but can only suggest that you try the OpenDarwin version of Gimp with X11 - I've just got it to work okay for the first time earlier this evening.

I didn't have much luck with Fink, and to be honest I ran out of patience with it. May give it another go sometime in the future. Each to their own at the end of the day; I'm new to Unix and do share your frustration.

It looks like you're missing the gtk library. I think you need glib too. Look over in forums.maxosxhints.com--they have several good Unix discussion areas.
