I connected my PowerBook to the Windows 2000 server at work today. I'm the only Mac on the network and the only one ever to have connected a Mac to it. I don't particularly want the administrator to know that I'm connecting the Mac to it.

Unfortunately, my Mac leaves a trail of .ds Store files everywhere I've been so they can see exactly which folders I was in.
Is there any way of not leaving a trail?

No, this is a known issue... (it's only an issue because M$ made it one... but oh well)

Perhaps someone wrote a script to remove them...

There's shareware that will remove them from a directory. DS_Store Terminator.

Yeah, but it's unfortunate there's no real solution on Apple's or M$'s part to remedy the problem. The average Joe does not check VT for such programs.
