How do I get my Bank info into Quickbooks 5.0?

I notice that Quickbooks 5.0 only imports (.iff) files which is a newer file format for banking transactions.

My bank only exports in Quickbooks (.qbo) or Quicken (.qif), how the heck can I import?

When I try to import any of these it won't let me, this seems very stupid.

this doesn't make sense! I have checked 2 banks and all they offer is .qbo files.

How am I supposed to get my data?
