I just upgraded to X and I am in need of a Simple DVD Player?
I am running a DP G4 w/ a external Lacie DVD+RW firewire drive and in OS9 the stock apple DVD player worked fine... now IN OS X it does not even load a DVD Player?
what are my options??? pref. cheap?

So... You can't use the OS X DVD player? Odd.

VideoLAN Client can play DVDs. It is free.

I will try it out... how's it work?
I need to clarify my earlier post, I have just loaded Jaguar, and since loading OSX there was no DVD Player installed since my system has an internal CDR+W and a external firewire DVDR+W that i guess was not recognized...
hence i need a simple player...
Hopefully www.videolan.org works out...

It is playing a movie as I write this...
easy to install, works well and it's free...

Menus?

You can install DVD Player using Pacifist, and you can then hack it to work with an external drive.

There's a hint on macosxhints.com which covers it.
