When I 1st downloaded Safari it seemed very quick. Fractionally faster than Chimera with non-cached pages and much faster than Chimera with cached pages. Over the past week it's become slower. Enough that I've switched back to Chimera. I've purged the history and cache and rebooted but it's still no better. It also launches slower (initially 1 bounce, now 3bounces). Any other suggestions?

I'm on a Dual 500 with 1.5gb RAM and cable modem.

I just did a little side by side check between Chimera and Safari, and Safari is still faster. I am using v51.

I notice it most on initial startup. The thing can be dang slow - sometimes hanging for as much as a minute before the home page content shows up.

The little bug reporting thing is frustrating too because it gives the impression that it is for compatibility or rendering reports only, not general bugs.

I've noticed a bit of a slow down, as well. Safari seems to be choking on some sites. I have to try connecting repeatedly, wherease Chimera will connect to the same site repeatedly. Also, since I imported all my bookmarks from IE (a lot of them), the Safari GUI feels sluggish.

I'm back to Chimera for the time being.
