how do i make a screenshot when i watch a DVD, apples way does not work!!

In the terminal type:
screencapture -c
This will take a picture of your desktop along with your DVD window and put in on the clipboard. From there just paste it into a graphics editing program. There are more tags available as well.

I think the shift+cmd+4 thing works when using VLC if i remember correctly.
