When I awakened my new 10.2.3 iMac from Sleep, it seems that it has a hard time remembering how it is connected to the internet for a few seconds.
Generally I leave entourage up on the screen when it goes to sleep, or I put it to sleep
So when I awaken it, I check to see if any new mail has come.
Sometime entourage says - can't connect to server, or server didn't understand message
This morning it tried to dial the modem ( and I've never ever configured this machine to use a modem since I am on broadband ).
My guess is that TCP/IP releases my DHCP lease when it goes to sleep but doesn't tell attached programs that the connection is effectively terminated.
Wake up, try to use the net and off the programs go trying to do something they thought was fine.
Advice or your thoughts? Maybe apple ought to work on TCPIP a bit so that it can inform apps that its asleep and to wait a second while it renews the DHCP lease...
