I wish that when we have new mail that we could just command-click on the Dock icon and there would be a listing of the newly arrived mail.

Have it listed by 'Subject' or 'From' or whatever you choose. I'm tired of having to open the full window all the time.

We used to have ths feature in QuickMail but I haven't seen it since I switched to Apple's Mail.

Do you think if I request this feature it might be added at some point?

Probably not, because command-clicking a Dock icon is already used as an equivalent for "Show In Finder."

I've still got evil QuickMail Pro on my machine, and fired it up to see this command-click to see the new mail list trick... I get the standard Keep/Show/Quit dialog.

my wish:

like Entourage, I could choose to encode an outgoing attachment into Windows or Mac OS format; or is this now possible?

Maybe it wasn't QM then. It was on some Mail app I used years ago before the Apple version. It was a real handy feature.

is there a place to mention this to Apple? Who knows if they'd ever do it but it's worth a try.

That feature will never happen. I get 4,100 emails a day.

Why would I want to have those listed every five minutes when i right click on it like itunes? Why not just click on it and instantly it pops up (mail.app) and it's listed.

4100 emails a day? From who!?!

My needs are simple:

1) I want to be able to easily call up a reply I wrote to someone, when reading their original message (ala Entourage).

2) A little more speed in scrolling and displaying message text (sometimes Mail lags a bit behind Entourage in this dept).

3) The ability to drag multiple files to the Mail Dock icon, and have them all show up in the same email as attachments, instead of Mail opening a new email message to accomodate each file.

4) I wish there was a Send Later command, for when I'm composing messages while being offline.

That's all I can think of...

It just sits in your outbox until you get a connection. What is the problem with that?

just one thing:

Better Exchange support. Too many damn places use it, and it can't handle Mail's attachments (it buggers them up in some way). It' also doesn't work on the receiving end (oh sure, it shows up all nice and pretty, but if you drag the file to your desktop you get a whole lotta nothin')

and on behalf of somebody complaining in another thread: the ability to add page numbers to emails when they are printed.

My main feature request... I don't think I have one... mail works pretty well..although i would like to be able to download my mail from a POP server instead of having to log in directly to delete em... thena gain under OS 9 with outlook... I used to use Mozilla mail but mozilla screwed up twice and lost my e-mail both times!
Anyway you can't tell it NOT to download and delete from the server... mozilla's much better it delets from the server what you delete.

Gimme:

Remove specific messages from server (ala Entourage)

And in agreement with above posts for:

Link to original message that you replied to (ala Entourage)

Multiple files into a single email for attaching.

Send Later (it is different to it getting put in the Out box because you get that dialogue box popping up, however not a biggie)

Choice of encoding methods for attachments.
