I'm trying to connect my Windows laptop (Win 2000) to my G4 (OSX 10.2.3). The G4 has two ethernet-cards, and I have a ethernet-hub. The PC is also used on another network.

Normally I use the built in ethernet connection for my cable modem. I don't know whether I can forget about the second card and connect the cable modem to the hub directly, or do I really need two cards?

I tried to connect the computers, but they don't see eachother. I tried to connect them using the built-in ethernet, with cable disconnected. Nothing seems to work.

Should / can I create a second workgroup in Windows? I don't know if this is possible, or can I connect to the same workgroup as in the office? In the office, this pc is not a server.
