I just got a new, well, used, radeon 8500, and I installed it in my system. All is well, have video, etc.

I tried playing WC3, and it errors with OpenGL not working.
I get that error on both monitors (radeon 7000 powered one and radeon 8500 powered one).
Also, the 8500 has no QE acceleration.

Drivers are installed.

What is going on?
How do I fix it?

By drivers installed, do you mean 3rd party (ATI) drivers?

I think you should stick to the ones that shipped with Jag. My 8500 runs great with the 10.2 drivers.

so are you using the ati october driver update, or just the jag drivers? because these symptoms sound like you need the update.

http://www.ati.com/support/drivers/m...02-update.html

check out the special notes at the bottom of the page above to see if those problems match yours.

the only other thing i can think of is zapping the PRAM? it's solved a lot of problmes when i first installed an 8500 in my sawtooth.

and, just for the record, i'm running the ati october drivers on a G4 running 10.2.3 with no problems, and QE is running fine (checked it with quartz extreme check app.
