Does anyone else think it would be cool if we could switch between the open documents of an app, in the dock, by placing our mouse above its icon and scrolling? Scrolling down could move forward through the list, scrolling up could move backwards.
I am thinking about getting a multibutton mouse. I doubt the scrollwheel thing is possible, but could I set one mouse button to move forward a document and one to move backwards through the open documents? Would I just set the buttons to do a quick "Command`" or "Command~?"?

I like the idea. Maybe not as much with the scroll wheel. But on a Microsoft itellimouse, there is a back and forward button (used for the web). I guess I could program them to do the same. Hmm... thanks for the idea.

I have the Logitech MX-300 mouse which has an application switch button. The accompanying Logitech software allows the programming of that 'switch' feature to any button. However, it only moves from left to right. It seemed very useful at first, but I still resort to command-~ most of the time.

After setting my mouse's back and forward and back buttons to go forward and back through documents, I'd say I quite like it. I have it disabled in a few apps, but in InDesign and Photoshop it is great.

Is this something you set in microsoft's mouse driver or is there a freeware program or a system preference that does this?
I'm looking forward to trying this out on my own. Switching documents either by riught clicking on an applciations dock button or manually dragging windows around interupts my workflow more than anything.
