I have a load of downloaded mp3's in my music collection. I normally just burn them to cds, not using iTunes, just using the Finder and burning them to a CD to put them back in in emergency (reformat).

But I have noticed each time I do this I get the original ID3 tags, there all wrong, so, it'd save me time if I didn't have to rename all the ID3 tags everytime I put the music back on. Anychance I can change the ID3 tags permanetly?

Thanks

Yes, correct them before you burn them onto a CD. ID3 tags are a part of the file.

I always do, but when I reburn them, they don't save the file.

Are you sure that the info is sticking? You might need to delete your iTunes Library file first. Only other thing I can think of is making sure all the ID3 tags are either 2.3 or 2.4.

I've had to go under Advanced -> Convert ID3 tags and select ID tag v2.3 to get other apps to see the current tags before.
