Okay, so everything worked fine up untill 2 weeks ago, since then its been all messed up. Everytime I try to install software, I see a pop up (like normal) that asks me to put in my password, so I do that, and I only have one user, so I am most definitely logged in as the admin. See heres where it gets screwed up, I enter it, and it does one of two things, 1 it will say that i'm not the admin, or 2 it will unexpectedly quit. Please please tell me how to fix this, I really need help! Thanks!

Have you tried creating a new user and then installing under that "user". This will at least help to troubleshoot the problem.

Is your system still under warrantee or do you have Apple Care? If so, then it sounds like a call to Apple is in order.

I wish you luck.

Sound like you ether have permission problems, or you had your tmp directory trashed by Safari...

Try fixing Permission using "Disk Utility" in the Utilities folder

If this is from the Safari Beta deleting your /TMP symbolic link:

1. Open Terminal (/Applications/Utilities/).
2. Type: sudo ln -s private/tmp /tmp
3. Press Return.
4. Enter your Admin user password when prompted, and press Return.

good luck.
