Does anyone know the maximum character limit for a .Mac screen name is (including the "@mac.com" part)?

I use Livejournal and wanted to add my iChat screen name to my profile there but unfortunately they have a 16 character limit. Apparently that works fine for AIM screen names, which iChat is compatible with. But since iChat/.Mac uses the "@mac.com" in your iChat/AIM screen name, the character size is much higher. Mine, for instance, is 17 characters long (mrtangent@mac.com).

I contacted Livejournal and called Apple today about the issue but the Apple tech support person didn't have any clue. She made some random guess that it was 31 characters. Then she came back and said there wasn't a limit. Obviously she didn't know which way was up. I need to know so I can tell Livejournal.com how large to increase their character space in the AIM/iChat profile area.

I found out from a third party the limit is 28 characters for all the legions of people who posted responses here! Thanks again!
