Hey all,
I've got a 500MHz iBook (Dual USB, 384MB RAM); every time I play a Keynote presentation - it freezes. I mean; no "esc" key gets it out, no "Force Quit" buttons... I have to shut it down.

I've changed the transitions from 3D to 2D (trying multiple ones) - it still freezes. Has anyone got a Keynote presentation to go through on an iBook like mine? Stats: 45 slides, 3 or 4 Photoshop images on each page, and no QuickTime.

Basically, if I ever want to take Keynote on the road (which is what it's for I thought), will I have to buy a newer laptop (this one being only 9 months old)?

Luckily, I could Export a QuickTime movie and semi-save the day. But it's no Keynote presentation when you have to do that. And can this issue ever be fixed? I'm reading now that I should have 16MB of VRAM, not the 8MB that this model comes with. Didn't mention that Steve, what with all your computing power on stage.

Thanks,
BD

I don't think the system requirements for Keynote will ever be reduced, sorry... you got in _just_ too early to get a 16MB iBook.

Well, that sounds promising... there's a chance that it could be a "Bug" and not a "Hardware Requirement" which my iBook could never attain?

I confirm. I do have the same issue. I opened a bug to Apple, and they were aware of the problem. This is a bug. We'll hopefully get a fix for 10.2.4.

edit: btw, I love Boulder Dash... I really played a lot with this game...

Pat++,
True enough, I stand corrected. The actual requirements are (as noted on the side of the box):

"Macintosh computer with PowerPC G3 or G4 processor; Mac OS X v10.2 or later; 128MB of RAM (512MB recommended); 8MB of video memory (32MB recommended); 1GB of available disk space"

So, yes, my iBook does in fact have the minimum requirements. Which means it's something else, and it is:

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61858

OS X 10.2 - 10.2.2 apparently do not have this "freeze" ocurring, but like my system has it, OS X 10.2.3 seems to be the culprit. Hopefully they will be able to do something about it.
BD

* P.S. Love the game too...
