Hi all,
Just wondering if I can walk into my local Apple Store and grab a copy.

I wouldn't see why not. Call them and ask (no, I'm not being rude, I'm gonna call tomorrow as well)

Please post the results of that call here if you remember. I just assumed that they'd have it in, and planned to drop by the Glendale store Saturday, but maybe I shouldn't just assume.

I wonder if they are going to pull the "Well, we only have the $50 iLife boxes... you can either buy that or download it from home...

(then again, why couldn't you just walk in with a blank CD and download a copy for yourself)

You know it's an internet world (at least at macnn) when someone would wait for a post from another user about whether a store down the street has something in stock.

Just call yourself!

isn't that what they are supposed to do? the iLife boxed apps will be available for purchase for $49 OR you can download 3 of the apps (iMovie, iTunes, iPhoto) for free. those were the options stated at the keynote. there's no way apple would put iDVD for download, even if it still cost $50. it's way too big, with all those themes.

They could be jerks and say "NO, you can only buy the iLife Box..."

ummmm.... i'm unclear as to how that makes them jerks. that's what stores do. they SELL things.

do you expect them to burn cd's of iTunes, iMovie and iPhoto for you?

I think I read somewhere that the iLife package is two CDs and Two DVDs. I bet one CD for iTunes 3 & iPhoto 2, another CD for iMovie and the two DVDs for iDVD, one with the application and the other with all the funky stuff.

Or maybe just one DVD for iDVD... I do not remeber exactly.

IIRC, iDVD2 was on a DVD not CD--I'd believe that iDVD3 is, too.

2 DVDs?! That's nearly 10 GB... 1 DVD probably but I seriously doubt it's 2.

As far as they know, they said it would be available for purchase, assuming shipments aren't delayed or anything. This was a call to the Columbus store. Hope that helps!

Hehe I know. I was thinking that as I was typing but I wanted to get additional responses. Sometimes you get different answers with retailers. Glendale seemed clueless. Maybe I'll call the Grove. Or not.

The iLife package will be delayed by about a week or so. It is unclear weather ALL the apps are included in that, iDVD definitely.
It says on my order "on or around 1/30/03"
So there you have it!

2 G4 PowerBooks
1 FP iMac
1 B&W G3
