I am running Quickbooks 5.0 and I have tried to upload my logo into the program, and I am unsuccessful b/c the image is too big for what quickbooks will accept.
From Quickbooks Support page:

Note: The maximum file size you can paste is 32 KB. The logo dimensions are set at 0.75-by-0.75 inch for sales forms, purchase orders, and statements, and set to 0.5-by-0.5 inch for checks.

My logo is 172KB. How do I reduce the file size?

Also I had to convert the image from .jpeg to PICT format for it to work in QB. I used graphic converter that came with my Ti for this. I do not not have any experience with manipulation of images so I would greatly appreciate any help.

Btw here is a picture of the logo.

I don't know the app, but if it accepts JPEG you can control the file size (vs. image quality) when saving it.
GraphicConverter should have an Options button in the Save dialog when saving as JPEG. There should be a slider that lets you control the compression setting. Set that to low(er) image quality and you will reduce the file size.

It only accepts PICT files?
That really sucks.

Have you tried copying when in graphic converter and then pasting in Quickbooks?
I don't use graphic converter but I guess you would do a select all and then copy.

You could check if it was on your clipboard in the Finder by choosing Edit/Show Clipboard.

Those restrictions sound like ancient Windows programs.
Nothing to see, move along.

Sorry, didn't get the fact that it only accepts PICT. You can use JPEG compression in PICT files. In GraphicConverter choose Option->Compression->QuickTime->JPEG in the Save as dialog.

Hope this helps.

I just downloaded it and it's 4k, I'm not sure why you are having a problem.

I did convert the image from a jpeg to a .pict file. However when I try to copy it from graphic converter and drag it to the logo box in QB 5 it says that QB only accepts files that are 32K and under.

And I am not sure why but the picture I have on disk is larger than the one that I posted here, which is from th website.

I really appreciate the help.

The only reason that I could think of is that either GraphicConverter or Internet Explorer (if you used that to download) added a preview and/or custom icon resource to the file.
Safari and Chimera for example don't do that. If you drag the image out of this thread with one of these, it will have only 4kB. You can also save without any resources with GraphicConverter (I think the setting is called WWW ready).

I just figured it out. It is a gif file that is on the disk, and it is our logo for the web.
