hi, a folder placed in Mac OS 9 Desktop was deleted from Mac OS X, that is, 'you, folder, go to Trash, and now, Empty Trash...' I tried with a bootable Mac OS 9.1 cd-rom with TechTool Pro and Norton UnErase... no way All I can 'recover' is an empty folder with the same name that the deleted folder.

I could not find some 'undelete' command in Terminal, any clue please?, some app out there?

Thanks in advance.

You might try Data Rescue.

Other than that, if the others can't do it, you may be screwed.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

From Data Rescue X Userīs Guide

General Usage
(...) However, you should be aware that Data Rescue will not be useful in all situations. Data Rescue searches for Catalog fragments to locate your lost files. Therefore:
If you have disposed of a file through the trash by mistake, it no longer has a Catalog entry, so using Data Rescue wonīt help.

So I think I am out of luck, furthermore, I would need another hard disk to recover data from PowerBook internal HD... maybe if I use it (PB internal HD) in FireWire target mode with my Yosemite and run Data Rescue on it (Yosemite)... well after all, by mistake or not, the trash is empty.

Thanks anyway CharlesS.

Ah, I guess it won't work then. For some reason, I was under the impression that Data Rescue could also do deleted file recovery. Guess not.

I'm afraid there might not be much that you can do...
