CUPS => USB Printer on XP Box

Ok, im having a hell of a time trying to get this print sharing to work. I have my HP Deskjet 920c attached via USB to my XP box. My ibook is connected via ethernet/router. I installed cups and drivers (i think...) but apparently im not configuring the pritner right, because it is just not working. I try to print a page on it, and it cancels the immediately. The printer is named hpdeskjet in XP, and i set the device URL to be smb://192.168.1.100/hpdeskjet ..... is that correct?

try smb://userid  assword@machine/printer
You will need to use the ID and password for an account whic already exists on your printer host.

ok, sounds good. so I have a space in my username on that comp... put a '\ ' in the path then?

ok still seems to not work... this sucks...

--done, and not working??
i try to print a test page and it just says the job was canceled.
