After switching on the built-in firewall of OSX 10.2.3, iChat stopped working.

What is the port that I should deblock?

Thanks,

When you turn on the firewall check in the Allow: "AOL IM". that should do it.

I'm not sure it's the firewall. The AIM client is very clever: a machine which can't get out through the usual port will "hunt" for ports that it might be able to use. That's enough to tear through most firewalls, and it stands to reason that iChat probably does the same thing.

What exactly is the error you're getting?

You can open up 5190 for AIM file sharing and see if it helps.

Ahhh... In the built-in firewall on the Sharing tab of the System Preferences, click on "New..." and select the "Allow AOL".

Thanks for sharing that insight with me!
