My Server is running OS X Server and My desktop is regular OS X. Configuring a server without the ability to set permissions is really a pain in the ass. BBedit can authenticate and save root owned files, but only on local drives, not AFP drives. I am under the impression that using NFS will give me all the options and abilities of a local drive, which is what I really NEED. Based on that, I'm looking for some help in getting this system running. Both machines are 10.2.3.
