According to the help area of the ImageCapture app in OSX, the app can be used for both digital cameras AND scanners. Does anyone know what scanners it actually supports? I don't know ANYONE able to scan through this app. I'm trying to find the easiest way for my dad to learn how to scan... and then do BASIC touchups and get them into iPhoto. He doesn't need to be overwhelmed by PhotoShop when he just wants to rotate and add some basic filters.

Works with Epson scanners.
I have a 1240 and it works fine.

It is a very simple way to scan + together with iPhotos new tools should be quite a good way to get started with touching up photos.
Nothing to see, move along.

Apple Jaguar Scanner Compatability Page

Go to the able page to see the list for supported scanners that will work with ImageCapture/Jag, firewire and USB. Some older scanners may also work, but have "issues" you should still be able work them through Vuescan.

Basically, any scanner that is TWAIN compatible will work. Epsons usually are, Agfas usually are, some HPs, and Canon chooses to use proprietary PS plug-ins for their consumer scanners.
