The online address book syncing is now functional. Go to .mac and select address book, it will ask you if you want to sync!
Very Cool.

I wonder what the hold up was? It was supposed to come out January 7th.

About time, exactly.

Macminute reports that the "bug" could have caused serious problems with user's data. Don't know exactly what that entails, but I'm happy that it is out now, even with the wait.

Now I just have to get my Entourage contacts to link EXACTLY with my address book. I've never really wanted or needed to use Address Book up to this point.

A shame, now it will make an app like AddressBookOnline pretty useless, unless you don't have .Mac.

Works here as well. A very nice feature complete with search function. A small downside is that it only displays 10 contacts at a time, but scrolling speed is adequate. I synced 900+ contacts in less than a minute. Thanks, Apple.

No, there is a preference to display up to 50+ names at a time....that's what I've done. Take a look...

Works pretty well, but I think the rest of webmail is a big mess, not a masterpiece of ease of use...

Ah Ha - You're right. I guess I was just excited to see the site up and running. Thanks - now displaying 25 at a pop.

Worked great for me as well. First time I went online and opened my addressbook, none of my contacts showed up. Found out you have to enable synching in your preferences and there they were. All 1500 of 'em.

Took me about 7 minutes to sync from my mac and another 3 or so after I enabled synching on .mac.

It would appear all of my info is correct. Fantastic! This now makes .mac mail usable for me.

Does anyone know if pictures in the desktop Address Book are supposed to be visible in the .Mac Address Book? The reason I ask is because I just added a couple of pictures in the desktop Address Book and performed a sync (iSync did recognize that 2 contacts had been modified) .... but when I went to the .Mac Address Book there were no pictures visible. I'm not sure if this is a bug or if it just isn't supposed to sync the pictures?

It may not sync those due to iDisk space, or its a bug.

It must be a bug, because the image is on the .Mac server. It syncs the picture between my laptop and desktop just fine.

Even so, this is very cool. Now what is needed is a button for my calendars along with mail, addresses, and the like.

Does anyone know why some of my contacts phone numbers aren't showing up on the .Mac address book after syncing? Most do, but there are a few people (including me!) who's phone numbers aren't showing. They are labeled correctly in address book (home and work). I've synced twice, no dice. Any ideas?

Edit:
I've just went through my individual contact cards on .Mac, and there is a lot of info missing on some of the contacts. Phone numbers, addresses, etc. This is buggin me out!

What's difficult about it? .Mac Webmail is certainly better than Hotmail, Excite or Yahoo! Plus, it's add-free. Guess it's all subjective, though.

My only beef with the syncing is that it added a "Sample" contact and "Instructions" to my iPod. I remember deleting those a long time ago and just noticed them again after syncing tonight. Not sure if they're on my Mac's address book, too. They're not in my Webmail address book.

Only about one out of five contacts' phone numbers are showing up for me after sync. All names are listed, only a few email addresses have appeared. ??

None of my phone numbers or addresses show up. Only names and email address seem to work properly. I've tried to delete and resink and that doesn't seem to help. Does anybody have an answer?
