Forgive a bit of a newbie question, but I'm trying to display an X app from a Solaris box on my Mac OS X machine, and I am getting the following error:

Xlib: connection to "[my IP name]:0.0" refused by server
Xlib: Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 key

Any thoughts?

check out the manpage for xauth.

you can also use xhost, but it opens X access to any user on the remote machine. xauth will let you limit it to just you on the remote machine.

How are you accessing the Solaris machine? If you are using ssh, add the -X switch to enable X11 forwarding.
