So... Tuesday morning, I go to access a directory... and all-of-a-sudden... it sounds like a mini-carpenter is inside my G4 tower, buikding something. The rainbow cursor is in a never-ending spin and I pull the plug.

Short story: Primary Hard-drive failure.

I'm kinda pissed since it's really only 2-years-old... it came with my G4.

ANYHOW...!

I back(ed) up my 'user' folder fairly regularly so I still have my pref's, music, photos, etc... but I still need to reinstall ALL of my 3rd-Party software (Ugh!).

Now... when I reinstalled and updated OSX on a new drive... I thought I could just "Drag-n-drop" my backed-up 'user' folder into the newly installed "Users" directory. Yeah... I dragged it there, but it doesn't show-up as a user... just a folder.

I tried a few things, to no avail... so, I just copied all my pref's and stuff to the NEW user.

Here's the rub: Mail keeps accessing my "old" keychain that I dropped in my keychains folder. How do I migrate my keychain Data to the new keychain...?

Can I just rename my OLD keychain to the NEW one and delete the new one...? Every time I launch Mail.app... it always asks for the password of my old user keychain. Gets old really quick. Any suggestions on how to get around this...?

In 10.2 Click on the keychains symbol upper right to show all keychains window. Drag and drop what you want to merge. Move the chain you don't want to the desktop. Test if all is well then delete the desktop chain.
