Download links are now available on Apple's iMovie and iPhoto pages, too.

I'm happy to oblige. 33mb for iPhoto? That makes Mozilla look svelte.
How was that?

I guess they want you to order iLife, man.
Anyway, as it is freeware, isn't there some friend who can download it for you?

do you have an airport? look for a free hotspot or perhaps a nearby apple store.
i don't think you can fault apple for the size of the app. if it were smaller, it'd probably have less features.

or less debug code.
iphoto is indeed the same crap as before, which feels even sluggier. imovie can't be tested because i got no camera, and playing the ken burns effect forever is rarther boring.

iMovie3 seems a little flaky with my DV cam, nothing very big its just if I hit play the first time its fine, but if I stop it and hit play again it doesn't always play, even though the icon changes, I have to toggle it again to get it to play.
Just importing something off the air though the DV inputs right now, so I can play with iMovie3, more later.

While I was downloading, the system decided to add 5 new swapfiles! I haven't experienced this before... Restarted, and everything is fine.
iMovie looks nice, but I don't have any movies to play with right now. I like the new interface, I think it looks a little more 'pro', but in a friendly way.
The Skywalker sound effects are really good!
iPhoto looks the same, I like the Burn button under Organize.

Why, why, WHY didn't Apple make 10.2 the minimum requirement.
The fake brushed metal interface just look awful
I wonder if the fake metal adds to the slowness.
Can't wait for iMovie 4 and iPhoto 3

iPhoto 2 scrolls through my list much faster now. iMac 400 DVSE.
It is awesome to be able to see your music files in iPhoto and iMovie as well as seeing photo library in iMovie. Gonna have to connect my vid camera to iMovie and give it a whirl.
You need to adjust your screen size to 1024x768 minimum to use iMovie. It is awesome that it doesn't take up the whole screen now.
Downloaded from Apple site. iMovie installed in about 1-2 minutes. No restart.
iPhoto took about 6-7 minutes. When you start it up first time it changes the file format of your library which took a couple of minutes on mine. Have about 450 pics.

Tried importing pix from my camera with iPhoto 3, and it warns that duplicates are about to be imported! Little window showing old & new previews as well. This is great for me, as i never remember to clear down the photos on the camera memory card after an import (and used to get *lots* of duplicated imports).

Here's a tip from iPhoto 2.0 Help:
------
To move the iPhoto Library folder to a new location:
1 Quit iPhoto.
2 Move your current library to a new location on your hard disk.
3 Open iPhoto.
4 Click Find Library.
5 Select the library and click Open.
------
Finally I can get rid of the Pictures folder - the previous version required a shortcut hack.
This might even open up an opportunity for some sort of Librarian software?

It is a very good idea to remove the previous version before installing.
The installers don't delete the previous versions and if you look inside the iMovie bundle you will (among other things) find the Classic iMovie 2.1.2.
