i don't understand how iphoto organizes things in the library....

i've got pictures from 12/25/00. the modification/creation dates in the finder (before import) said today. yet, these picture are in "iPhoto Library/2001/09/06."

huh?

after importing 3000 pics, i've got a folder named 1970, a folder named 2018, and many other years that i never took pictures.....what gives? where do they get these years from? they were not in either mod. or creation dates....

Has your computer been without power for a while or have you reset its power manager? If your Mac forgets the date, it'll go back to 1970 (it's a Unix habit).
In my experience, it's the day you import the picture that counts. Which does not explain 2018...

Stink different.
