I have to drives on my TiBook and one is the Mac OSX system drive, and the drive where my applications folder remains. Only this drive is full now, so I want to move my applications folder to the other drive. Is this possible in any case? I copied the folder allready to the other drive, but how do I let the system know that this folder is moved?

It is theoretically possible to do this, simply by moving the stuff to the other drive and leaving an alias or softlink in its place on the main drive. However, this will prove to be more trouble than it's worth. Apple's installer program -including Software Update- will break that alias/link every time you use them, replacing them with an ordinary folder.
This is a limitation of the tools underlying their Installer (specifically pax) rather than of OSX itself. Other installers should work normally, and of course drag/drop installations will be fine. Most of Apple's installers can simply be worked around using CharlesS' software Pacifist, but there's currently nothing that can be done about Software Update.

So the best would be to only move all non official apple-apps and leave the apple apps where they are?

If you move third party applications and leave Apple ones, services provided by third-party apps won't work, even if you put a symlink in your Applications directory. I have moved all my apps, and have to fix everything whenever there is a software update problem, but I'm not sure it's worth it. There seems to be no good answer to this problem; I keep hoping Apple will fix it, but they don't seem to like the idea.

I leave my Apple applications in place, and have my 3rd-party applications in another drive.
True, "Services" don't work, but I've never really had much use for Services anyway.
