Just got my new 12" PowerBook yesterday. Here's the way I installed stuff on my computer and what I am faced with.

1. Formatted Hard drive and installed OS X 10.2.3 and additional apps from the Install DVD-ROM that came with the computer. I ran Software Update and downloaded the iLife apps and other software updates.

2. Transferred all my music from my ext. hard drive to the internal on the PowerBook.

3. Installed the following third party apps: Kensington Mouseworks, Unsanity Application Enhancer, Quicken 2003, Mp3 Alarm Clock

4. Opened iTunes, went through the initial set up. Went to the iTunes prefs and turned off the two prefs: "Keep iTunes Music folder organized" and "Copy files to iTunes Music Folder when adding to Library".

5. I started dragging the folders in the "Source" column to add playlists and my music to iTunes.

6. After adding all my folders I quit iTunes and opened iPhoto. When I click on the Slideshow button, I go to the Slideshow preferences and I click the drop down menu and in the menu it says "iTunes 3.0 Not Found". The same shows in iMovie 3.0.

I have tried opening and closing all the apps in different combinations to no avail. Any ideas from anyone? This is really annoying!

Although I've not tested it myself, I did read someone else's post a few days ago who was running a pre-release version and claimed that the iTunes intigration with other iApps doesn't work if you disable the "Keep iTunes Music folder organized" preference.

And it was also posted that iPhoto(I haven't tested iMovie since I don't have a digital video camera) does work with iTunes integration even if you did disable "Keep iTunes Music Folder Organized" preference. I've never let iTunes organize my music folder and iPhoto2 sees the music library just fine.
