I guess this is more of a gripe than anything but I'm bored so here goes.
I've been waiting now for over 2 months for Apple to update iTunes to support my Iomega CD-RW drive. I've sent them feedback etc. and now that iPhoto 2 is out, it supports my drive very well but iTunes gets no update.
Does anyone know if an iTunes update is planned in the very near future. I'm tired of going to OS 9 to use Hotburn dagnabbit.
Sorry, I'm done now

What Iomega drive are you using?
I don't have any inside information, but when Steve was demoing a version of iTunes with Rendezvous support last July in New York, he mentioned that this was technology Apple would release 6-9 months down the line. So, iTunes could get an update in the next 2 or 3 months.

Wait, don't they both use the DiskRecording.framework? The list of supported drives really should always be the same for both apps.
Have you tried iTunes yet after installing the new iPhoto update?

iPhoto 2 does show my SCSI Teac CD-R(58S) as supported but I get an error when iPhote tries to start burning an CD. iTunes does not even recognize the SCSI Teac drive.

I'm using an Iomega USB 2.0 16x10x40 CDRW drive (only works as 4x4x6 on USB 1.0.) iPhoto recognizes it both for inserting a blank disc and burning. iTunes and the Finder still say the drive is unsupported. The Finder will recognize a disk that's inserted in that drive but won't allow you to burn it if it's blank.
I wonder if it would be possible to use one of the frameworks involved in iPhoto and transfer it over to iTunes to let iTunes recognize the drive. I don't really want to wait 2 or 3 months.
EDIT: Update, I just searched the DiscRecording.framework and didn't find any Iomega device plugins.
