I'm going to be installing Jaguar on several machines in my office. We still need to use OS 9 for Quark. I was hoping to avoid backing up data on every machine and partitioning the drives. More importantly, I also was hoping to avoid running the regular installer on each machine because so many software updates need to be applied. Is it possible to set up a test OS X volume and use something like Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the Jaguar setup on top of OS 9? Would a setup like this work. Would OS 9 be recognized as Classic? Any tips on how I can streamline this upgrade process are appreciated.

You could make a 10.2.3 install CD. CharlesS helped me make an install CD about the time 10.1 came out. I bet you could do that same, it is not too hard. and you can also make it with extras and remove unused languages too. You will need an OS X install CD and a CD-RW. People may bring up legality, but I am assuming that you have the licenses and this is a time-saving measure.

Search this forum and you'll find the thread. If I can stop being lazy, I'll look it up.

OS 9 is not a concern for you really. Just install X and you really don't have worry about 9.

I don't see the need for CCC, though it is an excellent app.

Ok. I found the link. It is long and you will have to sift through a lot of posts but the info is there.

Here it is.

Edit: It was a long time ago and I forgot that adding the updates didn't work. Sorry. Oh well, I tried.
