dude just play with it, the screen savers differs per screensaver
the dock depends on what side you have it on and the position of the screens
and desktoppics are different for both

Hey congrats on dual monitors! I love mine. You'll set them up in the Displays tab in system prefrences. I believe there's a tab within Displays called "Arrangement". I know you can have different desktops on each one.. but I'm not too sure on screen savers.

As for the dock, it'll go on which ever display you set the menu bar to go on. (Here would be a nice uprade in 10.3, being able to set whihc display to have your dock on, independent from the menu bar.) Well, you'll see when you set your displays.

Good luck! -M

It's so easy. Don't worry.

You choose where the menu bar goes. You choose where the dock goes. Some screensavers jsut blank the extra monitor some play on both. Desktops are set for each.

It's not a problem in any way. You can choose exactly how and where the teo monitors join - the only thing is that they must join at an edge on each.

I had to give my second monitor up - and I really miss it..

I'm running 10.2.3 with dual displays and my menu bar is on the left monitor, my dock on the right (far right, vertically). It seems that the 'bottom' placing will only go to the main monitor. but 'left' and 'right' go to the furthest point of your display set-up.

But yes, some 10.3 development would be nice - maybe even if you could position the dock vertically on the join between screens... or on the top of a sub monitor...!

Only a dual monitor setup? I have three: 17" 19" 14". It's very cool. I added a Radeon 7000 in addition to the GeForce2 MX. I did the PCI QE hack and enabled the automatic changing of desktops... it's so nice having three desktops that will automatically fade into a new randow desktop.

When I eventually get enough money to add an Apple LCD, I'll upgrade the GF2 to a dual head as well... four monitors... <druel...>
