Hey everyone. My Nikon 995 use to mount and import into iphoto within 15-20 seconds. Now that I have iphoto 2 it takes anywhere from 60-90 seconds before I get past the SBBOD. Is this happening to anyone else?

I already sent Apple feedback but I'm fishing for answers in here to see if it's a common problem with iphoto 2. Already turned off the borders to speed it up.

any suggestions?

Hmm. You have a much faster iBook then me (800 v. 600 and 8Mb ATI), but I have not experienced this problem.
Yesterday I imported photos from Sony DSC-P9, Canon PowerShot G3 and S30 effortlessly. And I actually feel that the overall speed of iPhoto has improved for me.

How big is your iPhoto library?
