Hi,
I am a switcher (waiting for my 12inch powerbook) and there is something that drives me crazy on my work computer.

Itunes and Iphoto dont have folder support.

For example in my itunes playlists i want a folder called Jazz, and my Coltrane playlist inside.
I want something similar in iphoto. Like a folder called Thailand Holiday, and an album called Beach.

Surely this must be possible?

I know folders are kinda possible. If you archive a cd with iphoto2 and bring it back into iphoto the cd appears with a little triangle to click and expand.
See this link http://www.apple.com/iphoto/organize.html (bottom left hand corner)

Is there a way to turn folders on, or such a simple way to make folders that this pc kid cant see? Too simple for me?

I think what you are asking - can't be done! The iLife apps are meant to be simple - hierarchical organisation is exactly what make things complicated.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.

But doesnt having 1000 iphoto libraries makes things complicated?
Isn't the finder complicated with all those folders?

Totally annoying.

but maybe i just havent found other ways to organise.. like keywords, etc.

You could try Audion ( http://www.panic.com/ ) for the Hierarchial Playlist organisation, but it's not free...

iTunes has an option to "Keep iTunes Folder Organized" If you disable that option, you can store your mp3 files in whatever folder hierarchy you want.
