i have my ibook networked to my pc through pc maclan, and the printer is into my pc coz the drivers are not available for osx, does anyone know how i can print over the network? i cant seem to figure it out.

If your printer doesn't have Mac drivers, try Gimp-Print . There are many printers that will work even with unsupported drivers, you just need to find the best match for your particular model.

that gimp print doesnt give me an 'advanced' option like it says in the instructions and it doesnt have my printers drivers Epson 580, argh! i so badly need to be able to print from my mac through my pc :S and i cant see anything on that other site, i tried all i saw and it doesnt work

Maybe not an ideal solution but you could print to a PDF file and then use Acrobat to print from your PC.

its an EPSON ink jet 580, dunno which it is outa those options you gave me, but i really need the mac drivers. dont particularly wanna buy a new printer.

I see that the 580 is supported on Gimp print. I don't fully understand, you need an advanced option?

If you merely need to print, install gimp print, and set up the PC for network printing. See the link above for MacOSXHints.

I have a W2K box as my print server connected to an HP G85 using Samba. Works great. I have to believe that you can do the exact same on your printer.
