Hi My boss accidentaly deleted her email folder with Eudora and all the files in it. Then everything just disappeared. She had another version of Eudora on the disk but that would not start up anymore. I guess it saved the files in her old folder. I told her to shut down her computer ASAP.

What are the choices for data recovery?
Data Rescue, Norton 7, anything else that is excellent at doing this kind of job?

Thank you

Norton un-erase is probably your best option, thoughI'm not sure if it runs in OS X, yet. If you've got an OS 9 version of it handy, boot in 9 and see what it'll do for you.

...depends really on how serious it is - if the information is as precious as an Iraqi uranium depository then you should absolutely not attempt to recover anything and get the pros in.

If however, you don't have the time, money or inclination to got to such extremes then data rescue seems fine - it shows all the files available and whether they can be recovered or not.

Never used it to save the day, but looks like the business. If you haven't altered anything, it should pick it out.
