What is the secret to "batch printing" in OSX?

In OS9 you just select some or all the files in a folder, then hit print from the FILE menu. The first file will open in its application, you have a chance to set up the page specifications, then hit PRINT and all the other files follow suit without any additional interaction.

Our college textbook illustration company uses this technique constantly to output our work for client proofs, compositors, as well as for internal use.

(I thought that I had this working in OSX earlier this year, perhaps things have changed in 10.2)

I am not having any luck selecting files and dragging them into Print Center. They do print, but print off the bottom of the page. Also, it doesn't seem like the creator program is used when OSX attempts to print them.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

WOW, that sounds amazing... didn't know anything about that... You may find out that it just isn't in X yet.

Hope someone here knows the answer..

There is no "batch"/drag and drop printing in OS X like there is in OS 9.

Stinks, right? This is one of my X pet peeves since I do alot of "batch" printing. I have seen one or two shareware apps that purport to be X "batch" print applicaitons, but they aren't. (All's they do is pull up the print menu in the program for you, one document at a time, you still have to sit there and manually feed the print dialogue.)
i look in your general direction
