Every now and then, when I open I/Explorer, I'm told that the connection script has failed. I'll accept a few gliches like this, but what bothers me is the way that OSX repeatedly tries to find a connection and repeatedly tells me it can't - it effectively freezes the machine.

Is there a way to prevent OSX from repeatedly searching for a conneciton when it's obviously not winning? Or at least, stop it from nagging me long after I've stopped caring?

And any thought why the connection is temporarily lost? Is this more a question for my ISP?

Thanks folks.

OS 10.1.3, I/E 5.1, ADSL line, ethernet modem.
